Lao Cai – Can Cau – Bac Ha
If you take a night bus, you will leave Hanoi at 10pm and arrive at the bus stop in Lao Cai at 4am. We will pick you up and take you to the center of the city. If you travel by night train, you will leave Hanoi at 10pm and arrive at the train station in Lao Cai at 6am. Picked up at Laocai Train Station to transfer to Can Cau market. It takes more than 2 hours to get to CanCau – a small market situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and only 7 km from China. The market deeply shows the typical cultural features of the minorities in remote mountainous areas in Vietnam. Further more, you can enjoy seeing boys and girls in colourful costumes – different colours of the mountains. They attend the market in the hope of finding “the other halves of their lifves” and this is also the time for them to chat, to exchange everything among different ethnic peoples through cups of wine sold in the market and have lunch there. Transfer to Bac Ha. On the way, spend time visiting a village of the Flower H’mong and then check in hotel in Bac Ha. Free to explore the town. and have dinner in Bac Ha. Overnight at hotel in Bac Ha.

Bac Ha ethnic market (on Sunday only) – Lao Cai – return to Hanoi
Located at 110km from Sapa, Bac Ha mountain town is well-known by travelers with the most colorful market of the hill tribes in the North of Vietnam. This every-Sunday-market attended by at least 8 ethnic groups and last from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. It is also chance for tourists to discover the H’mong King’s palace (old building built by the French & Chinese). In the afternoon, we go for a light trek to visit Ban Pho, the village which is home to flower H’mong minority. We are invited to enter several local houses to have some green tea, corn wine, listen to the host talking about their family, talk to them… and then enjoy landscapes on a roundabout way to Bac Ha for get back to Lao Cai for bus or night train to Hanoi. Overnight by bus or night train.
